Lo Bueno: Stylish appearance, sound quality, minimal wires and other ugly room intrusions required to enjoy surround effect.
Lo Malo: Limited customization of audio-video input assignments
Resumen: I just finished setting up my YSP04000. As nearly everyone else mentioned, the automatic configuration is a breeze and fun to observe. The automatic results are very suitable for a small room. I don't have the subwoofer yet, but by setting the "Tru Bass" to "Deep", I could almost do without it (almost). My main complaint so far is what others have commented on, which is the limited ability to customize your audio and video inputs. For example it defaults to DVD using an HDMI connection, or component video with coax digital audio. I wanted to use optical instead of coax. The only way I could find to do this was to swap my cable box onto the DVD input, and put the DVD onto the Cable (STB) input. This is fine, except now I have to push the remote's "DVD" button to get Cable, and the "STB" button to get DVD. My wife is going to kill me. Which leads to the next complaint... The "universal" remote functions of the YSP-4000's remote are not adequate, and my other so-called universal remote from the cable company will not operate the YSP-4000. Since we must now juggle 4 remotes, I will be looking into some sort of universal remote to run the system. All considered, a good value for the price, and an interesting conversation piece.

Lo Bueno: No wires neededDelivers great sound
Lo Malo: Doesn't decode newer codecsHeavyInstruction Manual is confusing
Resumen: I bought this because my plasma mounted and I was tired of seeing wires. While pricey, this thing really delivered. The auto-set up was easy, but the connections themselves were difficult and not intuitive. Overall you lose some things from a true 5.1 system but you gain a lot because you don't have to string wires all over the place. I definitely recommend this.

Lo Bueno: HDMI, Easy Set-up, Great Sound
Lo Malo: Remote Control
Resumen: I purchased this because I have limited space for speakers the sound is amazing for me it sounds like 5.1 set-up was very quick. The only problem for me has been the remote it has been confusing on how to prgram it.

Lo Bueno: Easy to set up, very good sound quality.
Lo Malo: Still have not clue how to set up FM channels - followed the instructions but it did not work.
Resumen: Overall very good piece of equipment. Price is good also as it falls within my budget. Setup is extremely easy, although I am still confused by different choices of sound effects.

Lo Bueno: Easy setup for ideal rooms. No wires. Loud. Very configurable.
Lo Malo: Setup maybe hard to configure for less than ideal rooms. Remote is confusing. Needs subwoofer for best performance.
Resumen: I bought the YSP-4000 as it appears to be the best virtual surround system out there. I wasn't interested in the traditional 5.1 setup due to running wires. My room is less than ideal as it really doesn't have a back wall. The auto setup was unable to configure a 5.1 setup, but instead a 3.1. I'm in the process of manually configuring it, but I'm confident that it will be possible. My experience so far has been positive and I'd recommend this solution.
