Lo Bueno: All

Lo Malo: n/a

Resumen: A correction reguarding a statement, in other review - "Reason is HW8UDD's utility software doesn't work in Vista." A friend of mine is currently using a HW8UDD on Vista, and the utility software works just fine. No prob!!!

Lo Bueno: Directional,500mw transmit power vs 100mw of most built in wifi. Dual antenna design. Detachable USB cord. Utility software for Vista. Uses USB.

Lo Malo: Easy to break if dropped, store in box when not in use. Also do not leave in sunlight plastic doesn't handle heat well.

Resumen: I owned the 1st generation dish "HW8UDD which I used for well over a year and did things with it that amazed my freinds who also owned laptops. One spot I connected to was over 10 blocks away and I was able to connect to it due to a clear line of sight. When using one of these keep mind that line of sight is important. If you can't see it the less likely you are to connect to it. For those considering either the HW8UDD or the HWDN1 I would say if you use XP use HW8UDD if your not in need of wireless N, and if your using Vista go with the HWDN1. Reason is HW8UDD's utility software doesn't work in Vista. As far as Range on the HWDN1 it performs just as well as the 1st generation. Last but least make sure that you pick the right HWDN1 version. There is a Mac version out there with a very simular model number.
